CD28, CTLA-4と類似性の高い膜貫通I型蛋白質。蛋白をコードする遺伝子は1992年にHonjoらによりプログラム細胞死刺激により発現が誘導される遺伝子として単離同定された.*1

PD-1蛋白*1

CXCL-13とともにfollicular helper T-cell(TFH)に発現し, TFHをnormal counterpartとするangioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphomaの腫瘍T細胞に発現するとされる。*5
